Hołowczyc to win with AutoMapa!

2007-09-06

The final round of the Car Rally Championship of Poland in Płock - the Orlen Rally - is due in just two weeks. The new event in a rally schedule will replace the Warsaw Rally. The rally organisers emphasise that AutoMapa proved very handy when preparing brand new rally routes. AutoMapa is also the sponsor of Krzysztof Hołowczyc - one of the major candidates to win the rally, who said during the press conference that he was only interested in the first place!

It is a brand new rally, new location of routes, service park and rally office - says Tomasz Bartoś of Automobilklub Polski - Luckily, due to AutoMapa we could prepare new routes easily and in a very detailed manner. We have also developed detailed access maps for fans that show the way to the most interesting places of special sections. Access maps shall be available in information centres of the rally - adds Bartoś.

Those who go for a rally with AutoMapa navigation set can find the most interesting vantage points, where rally cars will speed along in long slides and hop high at the obstacles. This popular GPS guide enables navigation on roads with an unprecedented precision and ensures getting on the spot quickly and easily. Drivers speak highly of AutoMapa, calling it a "speaking marvel of modern technology". Map of Poland designed in a digital system contains not only the most detailed roads network but also building outlines.

AutoMapa commitment to the ORLEN Rally does not only consist in professional aid in cartographic works. Once again Krzysztof Hołowczyc will fight for victory as an AutoMapa representative. The popular "Hołek" is one of the favourites to win the Orlen Rally, which will be held on a rubble-covered road. We hope that Krzysztof will do his best to win just like in Agapit Rally and the Rally of Poland.

Krzysztof Hołowczyc:
"I am really happy that I can take part in the final round of the Car Rally Championship of Poland - the ORLEN Rally - with my co-driver Łukasz Kurzeja. Once again we will drive the car from Bernard Munster's stable, with which we had successfully cooperated in previous rallies: Agapit rally and the Rally of Poland. We hope that Subaru Impreza N12B will help us succeed in the rally once again. The rally is likely to become a fantastic event. And despite the fact it will be held in Płock for the first time, I can tell from what I heard from the organisers that we are likely to witness an unusual contest. New routes on rubble-covered roads that have been unknown so far will make the rally very exciting and interesting. I would also like to note that organisers are especially concerned with safety issues, which is of utmost importance to me. The driver moving at full speed cannot feel safe when the route is not properly secured. In this case it is clear that organisers did their best to ensure route safety and prepare audience to watch the rally in a safe way. Admittedly, we had quite a long break between rallies and we do not take part in contests as often as competitive teams, but we will fiercely fight to win so that both our fans and sponsors are satisfied. Driving in the rally is always a fascinating adventure and a great experience to us. We owe it to our sponsors - AutoMapa and PKN ORLEN."

The ORLEN Rally shall be held on 21-23 September 2007 in Płock, so it will replace the traditional Rally of Warsaw, which took place in that period so far. The title sponsor of the new event is PKN ORLEN and the General Sponsor is the Municipal Office of Płock, AutoMapa is the event's Partner. The ORLEN Rally base, service point and prologue will be located in the city centre. The ORLEN Rally is planned with utmost care. After many months of advanced works a route of 622 km has been prepared, including 12 special sections of 180 km in total. The prologue to be held on Friday at Mostowa street - a winding, steep road joining the Old Town of Płock with the Vistula river bank - will surely be a scenic view. Additionally, at the prologue route the competitors will have to clear the obstacle which has been specially prepared for this purpose. The city's authorities hope that the section will soon become at least as famous as Karowa street in Warsaw.
